Każdy programista w końcu natrafia na problem, którego nie jest w stanie sam rozwiązać. Pomoc ze strony zespołu jest bardzo przydatna, jednak odpowiednie skonfigurowanie środowiska do odtworzenia błędu może wymagać zbyt dużych nakładów pracy. Z pomocą przychodzi Microsoft, który niespełna pół roku temu zaprezentował nową funkcję swojego flagowego IDE, nazwaną Live Share. Wreszcie jest ona dostępna!
Every programmer finally encounters the problem that he cannot solve himself. Team support is very useful, but proper environment configuration to recreate a bug may require too much work. Microsoft comes with help - less than a half year ago they presented the new function of its flagship IDE, called Live Share. Finally it’s available!

Live Share zawiera szereg funkcji, które mają ułatwić pracę nad wspólnym kodem całemu zespołowi. Rozszerzenie umożliwia tworzenie sesji udostępniania kodu na żywo. Każdy członek sesji ma możliwość edycji kodu w czasie rzeczywistym, a także podglądu wszystkich plików bez przerywania pracy innych osób. Co ważne - z zachowaniem swojego spersonalizowanego środowiska.
Live Share includes a number of features that make it easier to work on the same code as the whole team. The extension allows you to create a live code sharing sessions. Each session member can real-time edit the code, as well as viewing all project files without interrupting work of other people in team. What’s important - keeping your personalized environment.

Istotną funkcją jest też możliwość grupowego debugowania kodu - programiści mogą niezależnie dodawać breakpointy do kodu, a następnie wspólnie przebijać się przez kolejne jego linie. Również terminal jest współdzielony - wykonywane w nim komendy oraz ich wyniki są widoczne dla całego zespołu.
An important feature is group code debugging - developers can independently add breakpoints to the code and then step through the code together. Also terminal is shared - running commands and its results are visible to entire team members.

W prezentacji Microsoftu rozszerzenie prezentuje się świetnie i, pod warunkiem sprawnego działania, ma szansę zrewolucjonizować programowanie zespołowe. Jak sprawdzi się ono w praktyce okaże się w najbliższym czasie. Ja już zabieram się do testowania. ;)
In the Microsoft’s presentation, the extension looks great and provided it works efficiently it has potential to revolutionize team programming. How it works in real life will turn out in the near future. I’m already getting to testing. ;)
